The team
B2B is where Retorna scales beyond the end-user: businesses, partners, and high-volume flows that drive the bulk of operations. It's a domain of complex integrations, contracts, counterparty reconciliation, and compliance — and today it's growing faster than our headcount can keep up with.
Role purpose
We are looking for a senior backend/fullstack engineer to build and grow this domain. The difference is how you work: AI-first. We're not looking for an AI specialist — we're looking for a well-rounded engineer who already builds with agents by default, because that's the standard for developers today. AI is part of your toolkit, both for writing the system and for designing what the system does.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Build and evolve B2B domain tools and services: transaction management, counterparty reconciliation, partner support
- Design and operate automated workflows — including agents that resolve end-to-end B2B flows where manual intervention was previously required
- Work the stack end-to-end: robust backend, integrations, and the internal product layer that supports it
- Integrate with Salesforce and existing back-office flows
- Automate operational processes that currently hinder the growth of the B2B channel
- Refactor and harden legacy code with the same care as new code
Requirements (must-have)
- Solid experience as a senior backend or fullstack engineer in Node.js / TypeScript and AWS
- Experience building in domains B2B or complex integrations between systems/counterparties
- Working AI-first: using AI agents and tools in your development workflow as standard, not as an exception
- Engineering judgment in systems with real money: idempotence, eventual consistency, reconciliation, resilience
- Knowing when to automate with an agent and when not to — and designing guardrails for when the model makes mistakes
Bonus points
- Having deployed agents into production (not demos, not prototypes)
- RAG, tool calling, and evaluation of LLM outputs
- Integration with Salesforce and back office
- Document parsing, OCR/IDP in production
- Experience with regulatory documentation or compliance
- Believing that the best team of the future is a small team with agents, not a large one without them
